American Refrigerants, Inc. (Ameri-Ref) is an EPA-certified refrigerant reclaimer and supplier based in Bradenton, Florida, founded in 2008. One of approximately 50 EPA-certified refrigerant reclaimers in the United States, the company holds an HFC Production and Consumption Allowance under the AIM Act, placing it among the top 200 authorized holders nationwide. Starting as a local supplier, American Refrigerants grew into a trusted partner for HVAC contractors, industrial facility managers, and mechanical contractors across Florida and nationwide, offering a full range of refrigerant services.
Why We Started
We saw the need for a reliable EPA certified supplier that could offer reclaimed refrigerants at AHRI 700 standards, helping contractors reduce costs while staying compliant.

What We Do Best
American Refrigerants specializes in refrigerant sales, buyback, on-site recovery, reclamation, and in-house mixed-gas separation. The company provides on-site recovery for large centrifugal chillers (R-11, R-123, R-134a) serving chiller decommissioning and facility changeout projects in Tampa, Orlando, and Miami. Owner Chris Mussey is a participant in the EARTH Program on refrigerant circularity, funded by the National Science Foundation in partnership with the University of Kansas. All reclaimed refrigerants are certified to AHRI 700 purity standards by an independent laboratory.
